We´re saving our forests!
I´ve been wanting to contribute more in terms of charity and giving back to the community for a very, very long time now. Unfortunately sometimes life gets in the way and plans get put off but lately this concern of mine has become much more.
Our government has decided to tar an old dirt path on the northside of our island that crosses right through a section of our UNESCO protected forest, the Laurissilva. The experts say this will cause much damage to this very unique forest as well as introduce invasive species, our number one threat to the forest at this time.
So I couldn´t just sit here and watch this happen and decided to get involved in combating this construction. The plan is to get some evidence together that we can present to UNESCO about how detrimental this project could be for us and hopefully they could take action to stop it.
